Formerly known as Khao Laem Dam, Vajiralongkorn Dam is one of major dams in Thailand. It is a rock fill dam made of reinforced concrete, measured 92 meters high, 10-metre-wide weir and stretch 1,019 meters across the Khwae Noi River. The main purpose is to generate hydroelectricity as well as collect flood water and supply water for agriculture. The construction of the dam creates a scenic lake you should take a cruise along to enjoy the views. Floating rafts are also available for overnight stays.
Getting there: The dam is located at Tambon Tha Khanun, 153 km. from Kanchanaburi on Highway 323
